The Florida Highway Patrol reports that two young boys, ages 16 and 17, were murdered in a rollover collision in Lake County on Monday night.
According to a news release from the troopers, the double deadly crash occurred on Goose Prairie Road at Felkins Road close to Leesburg around 7:52 p.m.
The 17-year-old kid from Leesburg entered the westbound lane to pass a pickup vehicle while operating a Jeep Wrangler eastward on Goose Prairie Road, according to the FHP.

However, as another car approached in the westbound lane, the Jeep returned to the eastbound lane, striking the front of the truck with its back, according to troopers.
The driver of the Jeep overcorrected and ended up going across both lanes onto the westbound shoulder, according to the FHP. The Jeep then proceeded onto the eastbound grass shoulder.

The Jeep then reportedly rolled many times before slamming into a wire fence, according to troopers.
The FHP reports that the driver and his 16-year-old Umatilla passenger perished at the scene. The FHP claims that the boys, whose identities have not been made public, were both buckled up in their seats.
Troopers initially identified the victims as men.
According to authorities, the truck driver, a 38-year-old Umatilla male, stayed at the scene unharmed. Following the collision, Goose Prairie Road was closed in both directions.
