Local Community Mourns As U.S. 277 South Accident Claims Life!

The 70-year-old San Angelo resident Dale Edward Winey perished in a terrible accident that happened early on Tuesday on U.S. 277 South close to Ratliff Road.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Winey abruptly left his lane while driving his 2014 pickup truck southward. After going through the median and the opposing northbound lanes, Winey’s car struck an off-road pole.

Equitable Use of Force Winey was declared deceased at the scene of the crash by Eddie Howard.

At 5:50 a.m., when the event was reported, the weather was clear, and the road was dry. Local law enforcement was called to the location, including San Angelo Fire and EMS personnel as well as Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies.
