Lakewood police are conducting an investigation after a lady who was in a wheelchair and was struck by a truck while she was in the crosswalk on Thursday passed away as a result of her injuries.
According to a social media post on X that was made at 2:12 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department stated that the collision took place at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Teller Street.
According to the police, the woman, who was 52 years old and standing in her wheelchair at the crosswalk, was sent to a nearby hospital, but she did not survive her injuries and passed away.

It was reported by the police that the driver of a white truck was issued a citation on suspicion of careless driving that resulted in death. It was not disclosed what the driver’s name was.

In the aftermath of the collision, the Lakewood police department did not disclose any information.
After the family has been notified and an autopsy has been performed, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will reveal the identity of the deceased woman.
