A suspect in a robbery that occurred in Denver was taken into custody in Lakewood on Thursday afternoon.
As at approximately 1:42 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department issued a warning via social media of the presence of a significant number of law enforcement officers in the vicinity of Mississippi Avenue and South Dudley Street.
The West Metro SWAT Team supported the Denver Police Department in capturing a fugitive, according to an update provided by the Lakewood Police Department about the situation.

According to the Lakewood Police Department, the warrant was issued for robbery and menacing.
According to the Lakewood police department, the subject was taken into custody without any incident.
As an additional measure of safety, the schools in the region were placed under lockout.
Both Patterson International Elementary School and Alameda International Junior/Senior High School are located in close proximity to one another.
