86-year-old lady found at Clayton County convenience store after being kidnapped

An elderly woman reported missing from a convenience shop in Clayton County has been located safe and sound, police say.

Shirley Jenkins McCurry, 86, was sitting in a car at the Lucky Food Mart on North Main Street in Jonesboro at around 3:30 p.m., according to the police, when it was stolen.

A little after 7 p.m., she was discovered in a restaurant on the 800 block of Howell Mill Road. The automobile that was stolen remains missing.

The suspect in the surveillance footage is wearing only tan garments and red and black footwear. A black backpack is slung across his shoulder.

McCurry lowers the passenger-side window and makes eye contact with the criminal.
After that, he gets behind the wheel and leaves the shop.

Gray 2016 Nissan Rogue, Georgia license plate CTW6796. Surveillance footage, police claim, spotted the vehicle at 4:29 p.m. in the Atlanta neighborhood bordered by Marietta Street and Means Street.
