After a thrilling performance, the Los Angeles Rams brought home the Super Bowl trophy at an arena built for champions.
Los Angeles won its first NFL championship since 1999 with a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday – and their first since 1951.
The victory took a 79-yard drive capped by Cooper Kupp’s 1-yard touchdown reception with 1:25 left.
After Tampa Bay won the title one year ago, the Rams became the second consecutive team to win in their own stadium, the $5 billion SoFi Stadium, HuffPost asserted.
The Super Bowl was held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, even as U.S. deaths from the Coronavirus rose because of the omicron variant. When offsetting penalties negated Kupp’s 4-yard touchdown reception, the game ended quickly with the NFL Offensive Player of the Year easily beating Eli Apple in the right corner of the end zone for the winning score.

On the championship drive, Kupp had four receptions for 39 yards.
Nonetheless, despite that brilliant and decisive march to the Lombardi Trophy, it was LA’s “fearsome fivesome” who won the game.
In the second half, after taking a 22-second lead in the second half, Aaron Donald and Vin Miller sacked Joe Burrow seven times, breaking the Super Bowl record.
It was fitting that Burrow threw incomplete on fourth-and-1 under pressure, sparking a football celebration this city has not seen since the LA Raiders won the 1983 championship.
