As the Halloween season approaches, Knott’s Berry Farm is changing its chaperone policy to increase the number of minors that each adult chaperone can accompany into the park.
A guest 21 or older can now chaperone up to five guests under 18. If all five guests have paid to enter, the chaperone is entitled to only complimentary admission for that night.
The new rule will be in effect on Thursday and apply to all Knott’s Scary Farm event nights.
The park implemented the chaperone policy in July, following a teen brawl that forced an early closure one night.
All guests under 17 were required to accompany a chaperone on Fridays and Saturdays.
The rule was later extended to Sundays for those aged 21 and up.
When entering the park, adult chaperones must show a valid photo ID with their date of birth, remain inside it, and be reachable by phone throughout their visit. Minors found inside the park without a chaperone will be ejected.
