The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a hit-and-run driver from Osceola County killed a 53-year-old Kissimmee man on Tuesday night.
According to troopers, the collision occurred at Old Vineland Road and West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at 7:42 p.m.
The individual ended up in the direct line of an oncoming car while crossing the highway to the north without using the designated crosswalk, according to the crash report.
The man died at the spot when the vehicle struck him, according to the report. According to investigators, the car then took off.

After the collision, a roadblock was erected in the westbound lanes of the West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Since then, the obstruction has been removed.
