Judge Rejects Trump’s 2020 Civil Rights Lawsuit Immunity Claim

Monday, a federal court ruled that President Donald Trump can’t use his immunity from being sued as president to avoid being sued over claims that he violated the civil rights of voters while trying to change the outcome of the 2020 election.

Trump said that his actions after the 2020 election were okay because he wanted to protect the Constitution. He also said that he was “totally immune” from lawsuits because they were “outside the perimeter” of his official duties as president.
