In an apparent murder-suicide in Texas, two adults and two children were killed.

Two adults and two children were killed in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide at a North Texas residence, according to authorities.

The Granbury Police Department reported that authorities discovered the four dead Thursday afternoon after conducting a welfare check on the home in which they were staying at the time. All four had been shot in the leg.

The adults have been identified as Marcus Buchanan, 36, and Rita Buchanan, 34, according to authorities. The two female youngsters, whose ages were not disclosed, were 13 and three years old, respectively.

According to the Dallas Morning News, authorities have declined to identify the suspected shooter in the case.

Superintendent of the Granbury Independent School District, Jeremy Glynn, acknowledged that the two girls were pupils in the city of Granbury.

According to him, “the death of a student is one of the most difficult things that any school district has to deal with.” Youngsters, teachers, and staff, as well as our entire community, are devastated by the untimely loss of two of our most precious students. ”

Marcus Buchanan was last seen on Wednesday afternoon, according to Crystal Blanchard, a neighbor who spoke to KDFW-TV in Dallas. She stated that the family had relocated from Las Vegas to North Texas approximately six months prior.

“We were all deafeningly quiet. Nobody in the area heard any gunfire at all, let alone four shots, and it was particularly quiet,” she explained. “Marcus was the happiest person on the planet. He was a constant talker. He used to hang out with us all the time.”
