The multi-vehicle incident that occurred Thursday morning has caused I-35 to reopen near Covell Road, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
A multi-vehicle crash on Thursday morning forced Edmond Police to close I-35 northbound. A flatbed truck traveling south is said to have crossed the center line and collided with several northbound cars.

“Unit one was southbound I-35 and parted the roadway left,” said Oklahoma Highway Patrol. “It went through the cable barrier and struck unit two, causing that vehicle to roll, and then ended up striking unit three.”
OHP now claims they are unable to confirm the accident that was initially reported as fatal.

Drivers are advised to stay away from the Coffee Creek area until further notice, as Edmond Police is considering this to be a severe accident.
Traffic is being rerouted near Covell Road, according to officials, while the road is being cleaned up. In addition, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation recommends taking State Highways 74 and 33 instead of I-35.
