There is a possibility that Americans in need of assistance to pay their bills this winter can find assistance through the Health and Human Services Department in the United States.
The Ohio Department of Commerce has allocated $140,491,616 to Ohio’s Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) for people with incomes below or at 175 percent of the federal poverty level.
According to the Ohio Department of Development, that’s $46,375 or lower a year for a family of four. The federal poverty line is $26,500 as of 2021.
Listed below are the qualified income levels for various household sizes:
1 – Recieve up to $22,540
2 – Receive up to $30,485
3 – Receive up to $38,430
4 – Receive up to $46,375
5 – Receive up to $54,320
6 – Receive up to $62,265
7 – Reveive up to $70,210
8 – Receive up to $78,155
One-time payments are available to those who qualify, which will be assigned immediately to their home heating bill.
