House of the Dragon is Currently Available for Free Viewing on YouTube

HBO has made the first episode of its Game of Thrones prequel series an amusing marketing ploy. The House of the Dragon is freely accessible on YouTube. This promotion follows the Friday before the last release of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime.

Fans of epic fantasy are in luck right now. House of the Dragon attracted the biggest viewing audience for a new HBO series ever. (while also appearing to crash the streaming service). Simultaneously, The Rings of Power drew 25 million global viewers on the day it debuted, making it Amazon Prime’s biggest debut.

The House of the Dragon Debuted in Front of Ten million People.

Because of the success of Amazon’s J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation, HBO is probably giving everyone a taste of its latest Westeros adventure, tempting you to sign up for yet another streaming service — but there are other reasonable explanations for the freebie besides its, ah, fortunate timing.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the Game of Thrones series finale received disastrous reviews from critics and audiences alike. So while 10 million people tuned in for the House of the Dragon premiere, it’s understandable that some were disgruntled. Before re-boarding, the George R.R. Martin hype train, fans of the franchise may need a little more convincing.

House of the Dragon takes place nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It details the fall of House Targaryen and their reign over the Iron Throne. There are plenty of dragons, family disputes, and long, flowing wigs. For those disappointed by the more modern hairstyles in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Unfortunately, the watch link is region locked. It is unavailable outside of the United States. However, UK fans can watch the first episode for free thanks to a Sky TV upload. Be aware that, as is customary for a Game of Thrones spinoff, the series contains mature content.
