Homicide Investigation has Begun After a Woman’s Body was Discovered on the Northwest Side

A murder investigation has been begun after a woman’s body was found in a fire between 83rd and Vienna.

A fire started around 4:00 AM on Thursday, August 25.

The 36-year-old woman was shot and murdered, according to Milwaukee police. Nikia Rogers was her given name.

According to a neighbour, crime in this region is on the rise.

“I’ve been here nine years and I’d say the past four or five have been quite unsteady,” Al Kitzman said.

People on the site have also said that they think this was a domestic incident, however police have not verified this.

The autopsy has been planned for Friday by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office. Following the autopsy, officials will make an official identification of the victim.
