The Health Department ordered the closure of 15 establishments and fined 10 businesses for failing to comply with the protocol to prevent COVID-19.
The establishments that were ordered to close are: Drinking Die Sport Bar, Don Rey Smoke Shop and Wine, Colmado Bar La Minita, Business 1023 Restaurant & Bar, Colmado El Padrinito Méndez, Jalao Mini Market & Bar, Business Super Colmado la T, Clothes Vieja, Diana’s Pizza on Ave. De Diego, Cafeteria Michael, Garage Puma, El Nuevo Yucayeque in Río Piedras, Jalao Mini Market & Bar, La Bandera Business and CVS Pharmacy.
On the other hand, the businesses fined are: Burrito Social, Julius Restaurant, Condado Walgreens, Los Amigos del Jangueo, Colmado Placita La Parada, Agua Ardiente, Lokos Kokos Bar and Grill Business, Mundo Celular and Star Barber Shop, among other interventions.
In addition, they intervened with tourists who failed to comply with the Travel Declaration Form established on the Island.
As of July 15, 2020, all travelers must present a test carried out 72 hours or less before their trip to Puerto Rico. Those who do not submit the test must remain in quarantine for 14 days or until presenting a negative result.
While the Secretary reaffirmed that tourists are obliged, in turn, to follow the rules established in the Executive Order. “The tourists, with whom they intervened, came from Chicago and Brooklyn and did not provide a negative result of the molecular test.”
The declaration of Travel Declaration Form (TDF) has clauses where the citizen assures that the information is correct, if it is false, they could face up to three years in prison for perjury. At the moment, the case is being consulted with the Prosecutor’s Office.
