Hays County Deputies Involved In Fatal Shooting Following Buda Disturbance

A suspect was shot and killed on Friday morning in Buda by two deputies from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

The HCSO reports that shortly before eight in the morning on Friday, a 911 call regarding a disturbance in the 100 block of Hunter Creek Cove in Buda was received by the office. The caller claimed that someone was trying to break through a house’s front door with a kick.

The caller claimed that the man attempting to kick in the door was the ex-boyfriend of a female who lives in the house while officers were being dispatched to the location. The caller claimed that the man had two knives on him.

A man in his 30s was seen by deputies arriving on the scene holding a knife in each hand. According to HCSO, the suspect ignored repeated orders from the deputies to put down the knives.

The individual was hit by gunfire from two deputies, according to HCSO. The individual was declared dead despite the efforts of the responding deputies and medics.

According to the agency, the Texas Rangers will help the HCSO conduct the criminal investigation into this occurrence. In accordance with HCSO procedure, the two deputies who shot the subject will be placed on administrative leave.
