Fraudsters Target an Ohio County by Claiming They Need to Serve on Jury

The Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s Office reports a jury duty fraud notice.

“Jury duty notifications are always sent,” officials claim. “We do not notify individuals of jury duty.”

The Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s Office says fraudsters are calling individuals to suggest they’ve been picked for jury service. Officials said jury duty is not notified this way.

The Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s Office requests great care and no personal information.

Officials advise against providing banking or credit card information to fraudsters who want money. A spokeswoman claims jury service is always free.
