Fifty-Plus High School Students from Santa Maria Go on a College Tour

Students from Santa Maria High School went on the first College Trip South, which will be held every year.

“We appreciate your confidence and permission to attempt something new,” said Oralia Agustin Gonzalez, a senior at SMHS.

More than fifty Santa Maria High School graduates recently spent three days in downtown Los Angeles visiting nine colleges, such as USC and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Major Possibilities

“They studied about major possibilities and student life. They attempted to visualise themselves on campus and assessed each school to decide whether it was a suitable match.” Erica Martinez, college and career counsellor at SMHS, said.

The Saints travelled to several colleges. The programme tries to encourage students to continue their education after high school. Also there are a variety of private and public schools from which to pick.
