The 10-year-old boy’s shooting death on Thanksgiving is being looked into by Omaha, Nebraska, police.
On Thursday night, about 11:30 p.m., police were called to the area of North 31st Avenue and Nicholas Street in reference to a shooting incident.
Kendrick McDonald, age 10, was suffering from a gunshot wound when police arrived. The kid was taken by emergency responders to Nebraska Medicine, where he passed away.

Will McDonald, Kendrick’s 47-year-old father, was taken into custody by police on suspicion of using a weapon, possessing a handgun without authorization, and criminal homicide.
The homicide squad of the Omaha Police Department is still conducting the investigation.
