Gold Star families honoured fallen soldiers with prayers and music.
In a touching moment, many Christmas trees lit the names of over 500 deceased cops on the Chicago Police Memorial Wall near Soldier Field.
“I miss my husband, Police Officer Eduardo Marmolejo, terribly much,” said Gold Star Families Chairwoman Maria Marmolejo.

“We miss sharing responsibilities and making things, the joy of giving and getting gifts, the smiles across the dinner table, and most of all, the laughter and memories we shared.”
In December 2018, a South Shore Line train killed Officers Eduardo Marmolejo and Conrad Gary. Police were investigating a shot-fired report at the time.
