Etowah County Man Faces Charges In Murder of Mother And Young Brother
After a shooting in Etowah County on Tuesday night, a 45-year-old lady and her 9-year-old son were pronounced deceased. The suspect, named as 25-year-old Brandon Wagnon, is the woman’s son, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wagnon’s hearing was initially set for January 4, but it was swiftly rescheduled for January 9 a.m. after the court insisted on calling Wagnon’s girlfriend as a witness. At the time, she was the only other person living in the house.
The girlfriend provided a statement to the prosecutor, but the judge ruled that it was insufficient. After being detained for interrogation, an unconnected woman was allowed to leave.
The incident on Glen Gap Road in the Highland/Tabor community occurred at approximately 10 p.m., according to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.
