ENANITOS VERDES FRONTMAN MARCIANO CANTERO PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 62

Marciano Cantero, frontman of Los Enanitos Verdes, died yesterday at the age of 62 after undergoing kidney surgery. Since then, fans have used Twitter to offer their condolences.
After learning that the frontman of the Argentine rock band Los Enanitos Verdes died yesterday, fans have poured out messages of comfort and heartbreak.

Marciano was admitted to the hospital earlier this week for complications from a kidney infection. The singer was placed in intensive care after the operation but later died. Only two weeks had passed since his 62nd birthday.

Marciano, who was born in Argentina in 1960, founded Los Enanitos Verdes in 1979. He formed the rock band Little Green Dwarves with bandmates Felipe Staiti and Daniel Piccolo, which eventually developed into one of the most significant influential Latin rock bands of the 1980s and 1990s.

The band rose to prominence with hits such as Lamento Boliviano, Luz De Dia, and La Murella Verde. Marciano launched a solo career in 1990, releasing two studio albums.
He has since recorded and toured with Los Enanitos Verdes, earning two Grammy nominations for best Latin rock/alternative performance.

Marciano joined the band on their 17-city tour celebrating their 40th anniversary earlier this summer. The time concluded in August.

HIS DEATH IS ANNOUNCED

The band used a simple black ribbon to inform their 182,000 followers of Marciano’s death.

“Rest in peace, legend,” the band captioned the photo in their native language. The post was inundated with messages of surprise and heartbreak over the news. The band also shared a photo of Marciano on stage, captioning it with their shock at the news.
