Elon Musk, who has never been shy about sharing his political opinions, said on Saturday that he would vote for Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, if he ran for president in 2024.
The new CEO of Twitter shared his political beliefs in a series of tweets, writing, “Somebody moderate and reasonable would be my first choice for president in 2024.
Unfortunately, my expectations for the Biden administration have not been met.” He voted for Joe Biden over Donald Trump “reluctantly,” but he still considered himself a “major supporter” of the Obama-Biden presidency.”
In response to a question from one of his tweeting companions about whether or not Musk would vote for DeSantis in the 2020 presidential election, Musk wrote, “Yes.”
Last week, Musk began a poll asking whether or not Trump’s Twitter account should be restored.
It’s important to remember that Trump has also declared his intention to run for president again.
Trump hadn’t tweeted since his account was temporarily disabled when a crowd of his followers attacked the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In other words, “I have no problem with Trump not tweeting, “Musk tweeted late on a Friday.
Regardless of whether or whether he broke any rules or was otherwise in violation of Twitter’s policies, the most crucial thing is that his account is reinstated.
As a result of de-platforming a sitting President, half of the American people no longer has faith in Twitter.”
Civil rights leaders have advised major advertisers to avoid Twitter after Musk restored Trump’s account.
The activists claimed that Musk had reneged on his commitments to address issues of hate speech and disinformation raised in a private meeting. Still, Trump hasn’t tweeted in over a week.
President Trump frequently posts on his personal social media network, Truth Social. According to the filing, Trump is compelled to make most social media posts on Truth Social, with the exception of political statements.
Both Musk and DeSantis have been praised by Musk, who indicated in June that he was leaning toward an endorsement of DeSantis.
Musk’s endorsement comes as several prominent party members, including some who previously supported Trump, have been praising DeSantis as a better candidate to represent the party in the upcoming race than Trump.
Despite the fact that many of Trump’s favored Republican candidates were defeated in the US midterm elections, Governor Rick Scott of Florida achieved a stunning victory.
Musk famously stated in May that he used to vote Democrat but would now vote Republican because “they have become the party of division and hate.”
Despite the fact that the current president is a Democrat, Musk urged his followers to support the Republican Party in the House of Representatives.
Independents, who “never vote for the opposing side,” as the saying goes, “really decide who’s in charge!” In addition, he said.
Musk had already promised to vote Republican in the next May election.
