Dr. Fauci, Who Earns More Than the President, Will Receive the Largest Retirement Package in America if He Retires Today
In the near future, White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci is not, by any means, likely to slow down or retire from his position — for someone else.
Desert News states that Fauci has served the federal government for 55 years, which is why he has been such an outstanding and prolific advisor.
A Forbes article states that Fauci would be entitled to the largest retirement package in federal history if he decided to retire now.
In an audit by OpenTheBooks.com, Forbes auditors estimated Fauci’s retirement to be more than $350,000 per year. He would also see his pension and benefits increase after retirement due to increasing cost of living adjustments.
Fauci received more pay than four-star generals, the president, and his colleagues
at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, according to Forbes.
From 2010 to 2019, Fauci earned $3.6 million as a federal employee, according to Desert News.
As for Fauci, he doesn’t plan on retiring anytime soon. When ABC’s Johnathan Karl asked him about retirement, He replied saying he hoped to continue his work through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There’s no way I’m going to walk away from this until we get this under control,” Fauci told. “I mean, that’s the purpose of what we do. That’s — that’s our mission in life. In the middle of it, I’m not going to walk away.”
