Kyle Rittenhouse, the teen who fired the shots at Kenosha, was met by former President Donald Trump after his not guilty verdict.
The former president described him as a ‘very nice young man’.
On Tuesday, four days after Rittenhouse was acquitted, Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity about the visit with Kyle.
“Kyle I got to know him a little bit. He called,” Trump told.
“He wanted to know if he could come over and say hello because he was a fan.”
Continuing, the former president said: “He’s a really good young guy… just left Mar-a-Lago a little while ago, and he should never have been put through that.”
Trump said, “that was prosecutorial misconduct, and it’s happening all over the United States right now with the Democrats.”
“(Rittenhouse) should not have had to suffer through a trial for that,” Trump asserted.
“He was going to be dead if he didn’t pull that trigger, that guy that put the gun to his head in one-quarter of a second, he was going to pull the trigger. Kyle would have been dead.”

Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26 and Gaige Grosskreutz, 27, were all shot and killed by Rittenhouse, 18. However, a jury found Rittenshouse not guilty of all charges against him on Friday.
Among the charges Rittenhouse faced were first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, as well as two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Rittenhouse’s defense team argued that he acted in self-defense by bringing an AR-15-style rifle to protests on August 25, 2020, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Rittenhouse was lauded by Trump after the verdict was announced on Friday.
“Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found innocent of all charges,’ Trump stated.
“It’s called being found not guilty – and by the way, if that’s not self-defense, nothing is!”
The photo, which Trump took during the meeting, showed him giving a thumbs-up to Rittenhouse.
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the former president, also wrote and posted on Twitter, “GOATs’, an acronym for ‘Greatest Of All Time.”
