According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a collision that occurred on South Carolina State Highway 38 on Thursday evening in Dillon County resulted in the death of one individual.
The collision took place on South Carolina State Highway 38 close to Camp Road, just south of Latta, at approximately 6:20 p.m., according to SCHP Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway.

The log truck that was considered to be disabled in the eastbound lane was rear-ended by a 2020 Jeep that was traveling in the eastbound direction. The driver of the log truck did not sustain any injuries.
The driver of the Jeep was sent to the hospital by emergency medical services, while the passenger passed away at the scene of the accident.

There has been no identification of the passenger as of yet.
