The wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams, has been charged with violating a local code, according to a Kansas City (Missouri) Municipal Court public information officer.
Adams’ infraction occurs two days after he assaulted a credentialed photojournalist, who fell to the ground, during the Raiders’ Monday night defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Kansas City (Mo.) Police Department had previously claimed that Adams had been charged with misdemeanour assault. The Wednesday afternoon update confirms this information.
The citation says that Adams “inflicted bodily harm or caused an illegal offensive contact” by slamming the worker to the ground with two hands, causing “whiplash and head soreness” and a suspected concussion.
Court Set for Thursday, November 10, at 1:30 p.m. CT.
On Monday evening, Adams shoved the individual as he walked into the tunnel from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The individual then collapsed to the ground.
After the event, the person filed a report with the Kansas City (Missouri) Police Department.
Tuesday’s incident report said, “[The victim] made arrangements for private transportation to the hospital for treatment and then phoned police.” Preliminarily, it is believed that the injuries are not life-threatening.

In addition to the ticket, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero said Tuesday that Adams could face league penalties, such as a possible suspension.
At the individual’s postgame press conference, Adams apologised to the individual and addressed the events that occurred after the game.
Adams said, “As I was leaving the field, I collided with him and shoved him. I believe he ended up on the ground.
Therefore, I owe him an apology for my original response, which was motivated by annoyance at his rushing in front of me. I should not have reacted as I did, but I did. I would want to apologise for it to him.”
This week, Adams’ Raiders are on a bye. In Week 7, they host the Houston Texans on Sunday, October 23.
