Two motorcades are open to the public: one on Sunday at 2 p.m. from McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory to Crossroads Church, and another on Monday at 9 a.m. from Coweta County Fairgrounds to Crossroads Church.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has ordered the flags be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Monday in remembrance at the Georgia State Capitol and in Coweta County.
31-year-old Minix passed away last Thursday. According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, he traveled into Alabama after allegedly stealing a car.

While attempting to apprehend the culprit, he was struck by a Lanett police officer. While the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency conducts an investigation, the officer is placed on administrative leave, and the suspect is taken to jail.
Three daughters and a wife survive Minix. “We have lost a good deputy. We have lost a good man. We have lost a good friend,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
