Two police officers were killed and one was gravely injured in an overnight shooting in Bristol, Connecticut.
According to reports, three police officers were involved in a shooting on Redstone Hill Road. The Bristol Police Department has asked the Connecticut State Police for help with its investigation.
At about 3:30 a.m. ET, the Connecticut State Police announced that they were looking into a shooting involving an officer in Bristol, which is located about 20 miles southwest of Hartford.
“This OIS included three police officers. A press conference and an information packet are still in the works. We will notify everyone of the time and place once they are finalized. We appreciate your patience while we consult with investors and all parties concerned to collect relevant data. “The statement was issued on social media by the Connecticut State Police.
“We ask your thoughts and prayers be with the families, the officer and all those impacted,” Connecticut State Police said.
According to FBI statistics, as of September 27th, 49 police officers had been slain in the United States this year, which is fewer than the record set in 2018 (73), but more than the full-year totals for 2020 and 2019.
