Dr. Anthony Fauci isn’t ready to declare you safe enough to enjoy Christmas and the winter holidays without taking any COVID-related precautions.
Over the weekend, Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said it’s unclear what Christmas will be like for American families this year.
He said, “We’ve just got to concentrate on continuing to get those numbers down, and not try to jump ahead by weeks or months and say what we’re going to do at a particular time. Let’s focus like a laser on continuing to get those cases down, and we can do it by people getting vaccinated and also in the situation where boosters are appropriate to get people boosted.”
This speculation has come to the rise ever since the There has been some speculation that the current coronavirus epidemic will come to an end by Thanksgiving, allowing for a safe holiday season.

Last week, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former head of the Food and Drug Administration, predicted that by Thanksgiving, the United States will have 90% immunity against vaccination and natural infection.
Gottlieb said, “I’m optimistic that we’re peaking in COVID for the grim truth that the delta wave is so pervasive and infecting so many people that on the back end of this we’re going to have immunity in, at least, 85%, maybe 90% of the population. Some will have acquired that immunity through vaccination. Some will have acquired that immunity through infection. Some will have been both vaccinated and infected.”
He concluded his statement by saying, “I think by Thanksgiving you’ll see it run its course.”
