Chicago Weather Update: Snowfall Expected as Winter Storm Approaches from Monday Night
The National Weather Service has declared a Winter Weather Advisory for several counties.
From 8 p.m. Monday until noon Tuesday, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall, Livingston, and Will counties are under the advisory.
For Boone, DeKalb, Kane, Lake, La Salle, and McHenry counties, it extends from 8 p.m. Monday until 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Snowfall in Rounds:
Anticipate the snow to arrive in two rounds. The initial one is expected to begin late Monday night, continuing into early Tuesday.
Later on Tuesday afternoon and into the night, a second wave is predicted.
Snowfall Expectations:
ABC7 Meteorologist Tracy Butler forecasts that the second wave might have less snow due to some rain mixing in.
Overnight, the first wave could bring around one to four inches of snow, causing slippery roads and a tough morning commute, especially in the far west and south.

Additional Snow Rounds and Areas:
The subsequent wave might bring one to three more inches in the city and surrounding regions.
Western suburbs could receive three to five inches, while areas farther west might encounter five to eight additional inches. Even Northern Indiana might see an extra inch of snow.
