Shortly after 5:30 p.m., when the victims were sitting in a parked car in the 3100 block of West Madison Street, shots were fired from a passing dark-colored SUV, striking all three of them.
The armpit of a 31-year-old man was shot. His body was taken to Mt. Sinai, where he was reportedly confirmed dead upon arrival.
A bullet entered the buttocks of a 44-year-old lady. She was also sent to Mount Sinai Hospital.
