California Ranks 3rd With Highest Teacher Shortage In The Country

According to data gathered by Scholaroo, California has the third worst teacher shortage in the nation.

The education research firm created a list of the states with the greatest teacher shortages based on a ratio of US teachers to state populations.

With a population of 39,237,836 people and an estimated 293,619 instructors, California has 7.48 teachers for every 1000 residents, according to study data

The top 10 States in the US with the Most Teacher Shortages (From worst to best) are:

  1. Florida
  2. Oregon
  3. California
  4. Nevada
  5. Hawaii
  6. Michigan
  7. Washington
  8. Arizona
  9. Kentucky
  10. Tennessee

Low pay, pandemic-related concerns, working environment, and other things, according to Scholaroo, all contribute to the shortage of teachers.
