California Governor Announces Taxpayer-funded Unit to Fight Misinformation

While in San Diego last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom ignored any criticism of his policies, as well as disinformation and propaganda that had arisen in the media, and instead focused on other issues.

Governor Newsom has made it a point to specifically target disinformation.

On Monday night’s “Good Evening San Diego,” KUSI Political Contributor Joseph Perkins examined Newsom’s Office of Community Partnerships and Strategic Communications, which is part of his administration.

As stated by the governor, the state has formed a partnership with 250 media outlets in order to counteract what it believes to be misleading information.

In Perkins ‘ opinion, the co-opting of the media on such a vast scale was “way above what any type of individual in public service should be doing,” according to him.
