Detailed Heist Operation Revealed
Court documents reveal a meticulously planned operation where the criminals rented safety deposit boxes in banks and used medical equipment to photograph neighboring box locks.
These photographs were then used to create duplicate keys, which allowed the gang to steal millions of dollars from legitimate bank customers in multiple countries.
Smith himself participated in thefts totaling $5.1 million before the money was laundered into the United States.
