Bomb Threat Reported In Augusta County: Authorities on High Alert
The Old Providence Presbyterian Church, located off Spottswood Road in Augusta County, was the target of a bomb threat that was made at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.
The Spottswood Community Center, which is located farther down the road, has been designated as a staging area for the Augusta County Fire-Rescue crews that are currently on the site. The church has been taken out of service.
It has been brought to the attention of the Virginia State Police by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office that they require help in the form of an explosive detection K-9.
