Beaumont Woman’s Charge For Killing Boyfriend In His Sleep!
A 66-year-old man was shot and ki!!ed by a woman from Beaumont. She was charged with m*rder. She is 40 years old. On October 18, 2023, Tracy Marie Samuel was charged with first-degree criminal m*rder.
People who are found guilty of first-degree m*rder can spend anywhere from 5 to 99 years in jail. The court may also decide to add a fine of up to $10,000.
On September 27, 2023, Beaumont Sheriff’s deputies were sent to a reported shooting at a home in the 8000 block of A and M St. off Hillebrandt Rd in the county at about 4:20 a.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The affidavit says that Tracy Marie Samuel called 911 to report the ki!!ing and told the operator that she had shot Lewis by accident.
The release says that when officers got there, they found 66-year-old Delbert Charles Lewis with a gunshot wound.
A probable cause affidavit in the case says that Lewis told officers at the scene that he had been asleep when he was shot. Police found a Smith & Wesson M/P.40 handgun on the floor next to the bed where Lewis was found.

The next day, investigators from the sheriff’s office talked to Samuel. She told them that she and her boyfriend had been sleeping and that she woke up and went to the bathroom to smoke crack cocaine.
Samuel, who police found to be living with Lewis, told them that Lewis last remembered putting down the gun. She also said the gunshot shocked her.
Lewis was taken by ambulance to a Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had surgery but died six days later on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
