A Willow day is filled with music, whether it is in the classroom, chapel, or auditorium. All students actively participate in the Willow Music curriculum, which has a long history of musical excellence. Boys are encouraged to enroll in the orchestra, choirs, instrumental programs, and ensembles.
The Willow Boys are taught to express their spirituality and joy in life via music. On Friday, October 21, as the bands began to perform, there was a vibrant sound both inside and outside Willow School.
For their first combined performance of the season, the 18 members of the Willow Band provided the beat alongside the director of the Homewood-Flossmoor High School Marching Band Sarah Witlock and the 14 band members.
Parents, teachers, and staff at Willow all took pleasure in the musical treat. The band was established at Willow School in Homewood last year. The band gained new significance this year under the guidance of Amelia Riedel, the new general music instructor.
