Adams’s lawyer, Dennis Knizley, wouldn’t say anything Wednesday because he didn’t know enough about the charge.
The inquiry, according to the police, started when multiple victims came forward. An indictment was returned after being presented to a grand jury, thereby initiating the trial process.
At a preliminary hearing, an investigator claimed that Adams had exploited his position as a clergyman to instil terror in his victims.
