On Tuesday night, a pickup truck driver gave Los Angeles police quite the chase. During the pursuit, the suspect drove recklessly on surface streets, going through red lights, speeding, and swerving in and out of traffic.
As the motorist sped away from LAPD in Van Nuys at around 11:20 p.m., a chopper from our sister station KABC-TV flew overhead to cover the chase. Once the pursued vehicle entered interstate traffic, authorities from the California Highway Patrol took over.
The CHP pursued the vehicle until the driver stopped and surrendered. A stolen license plate reportedly led police to the suspect.
