(NEXSTAR) — The Houston Astros winning the World Series was a fantastic achievement for the team and the city, but advantageous for Houston furniture store owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale.
McIngvale placed a $10 million wager on the Astros winning the World Series, according to Forbes. The Astros won the series soon after, and McIngvale received $75 million.

He also thanked the city of Houston, the Astros, his wife Linda, and everyone else for their support throughout the series.

It includes a $30 million payout at Caesars Sportsbook, the largest in US sports betting history. Mattress Mack wagered $3 million at 10/1 odds at Caesars Sportsbook in May.
He drove across the Texas border to place an online bet on the Caesars Sportsbook App from a parking lot at a Subway sandwich shop in Louisiana, one of 17 states in the United States where Caesars Sportsbook is legal.
