A Florida Woman and Her Ex-Boyfriend Forcefully Robbed a 73-Year-Old Senior Citizen

Police say a Florida lady and her ex-boyfriend robbed a senior citizen during a romantic date.

According to a news statement from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Chelsea Wright, 34, and Andrew Marks, 33, were involved in a violent robbery of a 73-year-old man who required medical attention at a nearby hospital.

According to police, the elderly victim arrived at a local hospital around 5 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, and described a disturbing occurrence involving his interactions with Wright and Marks.

According to authorities, the 73-year-old informed hospital personnel that he planned to meet Wright at a Daytona Beach pub for a romantic date to discuss the couple’s relationship.

According to police, Wright advised that the victim return to her house, and he consented.

The 73-year-old followed Wright to her Ormond Beach, Florida, home in Plantation Pines.

According to the authorities, she picked up Marks along there and dropped him off close to a house.

When the man exited his automobile at Wright’s purported home, Marks reappeared and reportedly struck him in the head with a metal weapon.

According to police, he continued to punch him until he collapsed to the ground.

Marks then snatched the man’s wallet and fled the scene along with Wright.

The victim was treated at the hospital for various injuries to his head, torso, and limbs, including serious lacerations to his head that required staples and a swollen shut eye.

After the victim’s date went wrong, cops followed her before pulling her up for a traffic violation and discovering cocaine in her car.

During an interview with detectives, she lied and said that the attacker was an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s whom she met on the side of the road.

Detectives also recovered text exchanges between Marks and Wright, revealing that they had plotted the crime together and previously dated.

Marks was found and arrested early Friday in Holly Hill on counts of robbery with a firearm and aggravated violence on a victim over the age of 65.

According to authorities, Wright was detained as the principal on the same allegations.
