A man was shot in the hand by Chicago police on Wednesday night during an altercation in the West Pullman area. Authorities said the incident happened on Wednesday around the corner of 127th Street and Wentworth.
At approximately 5:25 p.m., a 52-year-old man armed with a shotgun emerged from a house and opened fire on a 47-year-old male, killing him. The man, according to the police, went back inside the house, grabbed a gun, and then returned to the scene.
The Police shot the suspect for saving another man’s life
The suspect and the victim were sent to local hospitals, receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability will investigate the shooting, and the officers responsible for opening fire will be placed on routine administrative duty for 30 days.
