A Car Crash Near the West Side-Two Chicago Police Officers Hurt

A car accident on the Near West Side on Friday night injured three people, two of whom were Chicago Police officers.

A woman driving a Jeep Liberty south on Oakley Boulevard at 9:27 p.m. blew a red light. She collided with a police cruiser at the intersection with Congress Parkway, according to the police report.

A Chicago Police SUV had visible damage on the driver’s side when they arrived

The police officers’ non-life-threatening injuries were treated at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, only a few blocks from the accident site. The lady driver of the Jeep was transferred to the same hospital, where her condition was listed as “fair,” and she was issued three citations for her speeding.

There were no other injuries that were reported.
