A vigil was held for a 77-year-old lady who was stabbed to death at her house in a gated Atlanta community as police sought a person of interest.
On Saturday evening, a large group of people showed up to hold a vigil for Eleanor Bowles, 77, in front of her home in Atlanta’s Buckhead district. The mother and grandmother were recalled as “one of the most wonderful persons that you could ask” by her family and friends.
She was a kind and compassionate person
Saturday night, at about 6:00, police were dispatched to a residence located at 6 Paces West Terrace NW, according to reports. Police discovered Bowles, apparently stabbed numerous times, lifeless in her garage. Her death was ruled an accident scene instantaneous.
At a press briefing on Sunday morning, authorities suggested that Bowles may have witnessed the theft of her 2021 Lexus SUV. Police in DeKalb County found the car after it had been reported stolen.
The police are looking to the public for help in identifying a suspect. They are also looking for surveillance footage from Saturday between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. when the crime was most likely committed.
