On Friday, US holiday travellers faced delays and cancellations due to the winter weather.
FlightAware reported 2,651 Friday flight cancellations as of 1:45 a.m. ET, after 2,544 Thursday cancellations.
Thursday saw the most cancellations and delays at Chicago and Denver airports. Snow and ice caused almost three-hour delays Thursday at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Amtrak has also delayed or cancelled certain Midwest and Northeast passenger operations.
“Customers with reservations on trains that are being adjusted will typically be accommodated on trains with comparable departure times or on another day,” Amtrak stated.

Customers who call 1-800-USA-RAIL during the new schedule to change their reservation will not be charged.
Greyhound, the biggest intercity bus company, warned passengers travelling in the Midwest during the next two days that their routes may be delayed or cancelled on Thursday.
The bus operator named over a dozen affected cities, from West Virginia to Minnesota.
