1 Juvenile Dead after SUV, Amish Buggy Crash in Ohio

For those in GALLIA COUNTY, OH (WOWK) — According to the Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), one teen was killed when a Ford Escape and an Amish horse and buggy collided in the Rio Grande area.

On Friday, April 52, at approximately 4:52 p.m., OSHP officers responded to a crash on State Route 325 and found two children thrown from a buggy.

The buggy was heading southwest when a Ford SUV rear-ended it, according to OSHP. According to OSHP, the cart veered off to the right and overturned, throwing both victims to the ground.

One victim was taken by EMS from Gallia County to Holzer Medical Center, while the other was flown to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in West Virginia, where he later died.

OSHP reports that the car’s driver suffered no injuries.

The authorities have not yet filed any charges, and the cause of the crash is still unknown.
